Conferencia “ Dimorfismo sexual, evolución humana, habla e igualdad”
En la semana de la mujer y la niña en la ciencia, los Departamentos de Geografía e Historia y Departamento de Biología y Geología, con la colaboración de la Asociación Violencia Machista Cero, organizaron la asistencia de varios grupos de alumnados de 4º ESO y 1º de Bachillerato del Centro IES Campiña Alta, a la Conferencia sobre “ Dimorfismo sexual, evolución humana, habla e igualdad”, que impartían el Doctor Ignacio Martínez Mendizábal, Paleoantropólogo, Catedrático de Universidad, Profesor en el Área de Antropología Física, Departamento de Ciencias de la Vida, de la Universidad de Alcalá de Henares y la Doctora Mercedes Conde Valverde, Bióloga, Profesora de Antropología Física en Universidad de Alcalá de Henares.
Ambos son investigadores, miembros del equipo de Atapuerca. Ignacio Martínez es Premio Príncipe de Asturias de investigación y Mercedes Conde ha puesto de manifiesto, en una publicación científica, que los neandertales hablaban al igual que lo hacemos nosotros.
La actividad tuvo lugar el día 14 de febrero, en el Auditorio del Ayuntamiento de. El Casar, junto con la asistencia de varios grupos de alumnados del IES Juan García Valdemora y del Colegio Montealbir ambos del municipio El Casar.
During Women and girls in science week, the Departments of Geography and History and Biology and Geology, with the collaboration of the Zero Sexist Violence Association, organized the attendance of several groups of students from 4th ESO and 1st year of bachillerato from IES Campiña Alta, to the lecture on "Sexual dimorphism, human evolution, speech and equality", by Dr Ignacio Martínez Mendizábal, Paleoanthropologist and Professor in the Area of Physical Anthropology of Life Sciences Department at the University of Alcalá de Henares and Dr. Mercedes Conde Valverde, Biologist and Professor of Physical Anthropology at the University of Alcalá de Henares.
Both are researchers and members of the Atapuerca team. Ignacio Martínez was awarded with the Prince of Asturias Award for research and Mercedes Conde has revealed, in a scientific publication, that Neanderthals spoke just like we do.
The activity took place on February 14th, in the City Hall Auditorium of El Casar, along with the assistance of various groups of students from IES Juan García Valdemora and Montealbir School, both from our village.
